Legacy videos

In this section of the videovault you will find older videos, that although outdated in terms of product versions, still contains valuable information. If you happen to stumple uppon a legacy RES related video you would like to share with the community, drop me a mail here (remove the nospam prefix) and I’ll post it. Below are some quite interesting videos as they sound very much like they have been recorded by none other than the GodFather of Workspace Management himself, Mr. Bob Janssen. The videos demo facilities of PowerFuse 7x, which is now a legacy version. Still however very usefull information since all the demonstrated functionality is still in PowerFuse 20xx, although the GUI have changed.

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x Instant Logoff – By RMAJansen. Note: This is a legacy version af PowerFuse, but Instant Logoff is still in the product under the Setup|Reliability node.

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x Registry Editing – By RMAJansen. Note: This is a legacy version af PowerFuse, but the method is still valid, although now PowerFuse 2010 offers Registry Tracing.

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x WebTop – By RMAJansen. Note: This is a legacy version af PowerFuse, but the Webtop feature is still in the product, now known as Web Portal. In PowerFuse 2010 you will find this in the Setup|Integration node.

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x PowerTrace – By RMAJansen. Note: This is a legacy version af PowerFuse, but PowerTrace is still in the product, now known as Usage Tracking, found in the consule in both Diagnostic|Usage Tracking Overview and Setup|Usage Tracking.

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x Access Control – By RMAJansen. Note: This is a legacy version 7x of PowerFuse, but Access Control is of course still in the product, although it has been greatly enhanced with Workspaces, Administrative Roles and Scope control)

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x Subscriber – By RMAJansen. Note: This is a legacy version af RES PowerFuse, but the Subscriber technology is still available, although it has been rebranded as VDX (Virtual Desktop Extender)

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x Security Roles – By RMAJansen. Note: This is a legacy version af PowerFuse, but the Security Roles are is still available, although they are now called Administrative Roles. Additionally, you now can assign all kinds of configuration objects to them. Also Administrative Roles have been enhanced with Scope Control in PowerFuse 2010+ allowing you to decide who certain settings can take effect on.

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x Memory Shield – By RMAJansen. This is a legacy version af PowerFuse, but MemoryShield is still in the product, although it has been renamed to Memory Optimization. You will find this in the PowerFuse 2010+ console below the Setup|Reliability node.

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x Application Security – By RMAJansen. Note: This is a legacy version af PowerFuse, but application security, commonly known as AppGuard is still in the product, however it has been greatly enhanced since the 7.x days)

 

RES PowerFuse 7.x Instant Mail – By RMAJansen. Note: This is a legacy version af PowerFuse, but Instant Mail is still in the product, although now it is known as E-Mail Templates. This feature has been greatly enhanced since then supporting a lot of new email platforms and of course the latest Outlook versions)
